Another thing I’m struggling with this week is a former boss who does not know how to do the job got an MD promotion; how do you manage this situation?

I’m looking for some advice and/or to vent a little. I’ve been looking for a sales job specifically to pivot into tech sales and I’m getting rejected non stop and it’s really starting to weigh on me and ruin my confidence.

The positives are, I’m actually getting interviews- about 5 so far, I get to the later/last rounds but can’t seem to close the deal. I’ve tried learning from each experience, and taking that as growth for the next interview but it hasn’t worked.
I have 7yrs total sales exp.

Anyone ever exit MBB to join PE in an Operations role? What was the experience like? Would people recommend this route? Is the $ similar?

I feel like I’ve lost myself since joining McK. My whole world has become about work. I love my job but I’m not the same person I started and I feel I don’t connect with my friends and family the way I use to. I’m not sure if I’ve grown, or lost a part of myself. Is this growing up or do I need to make a career change?

I recently left the Army about a year ago. Did a DoD SkillBridge fellowship and accepted the full time offer because I was scared of not having a paycheck. About a year later, still at the company and I hate it. Don’t feel purpose and I’m working with recent college grads as my peers.
