Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

The best part is, 90% of the time the person interviewing you is just as disinterested in the mission as you are. It really is all about putting on a show.

It’s all a game. Say what they want to hear, get the job, then go back to being normal. The system rewards performative passion — might as well play along.
It's just the kabuki theater that's required to get in the door. You just play the part and put on a good show. And seriously, these companies are just hawking software to count widgets or dollars. It's not Eisenhower and Bradley picking out the landing beaches in Normandy.
Honestly, faking enthusiasm for the company is just part of the process. I think they want to hire people who want to see the business succeed, not people who are ambivalent about the direction of the company. It's all a song and dance, but it's just something we have to do.
You could maybe direct your enthusiasm towards the industry as a whole and the impact of the work on clients or society. You should at least have some interest for the bigger picture of the work you are getting yourself into. Drinking the koolaid for a specific company or feigning interest for your day to day tasks I agree is a tough sell
Can be exhausting. So be sure to do something really nice for yourself afterwards.
Personalities get in the way when they own a company and refuse to continue hiring who recruiters onboarded. I think some people have a drinking problem! I truly do! It's a money issue and it's disasterous to those employeed. Health professionals hired for a week or a month (heard through the grape vine) with no good reason to be let go other than the money the duo makes who hired the recruiters.
Double up on your meds just before u interview and go in firing!
