If you are alone then good deal.
If you are with your family and you live in zone 3 or zone 4 so your monthly accommodation expenses should be around 1800 pound . Food +phone bill =500-600 pound
Then deduct your rough tax as 30% and you will get roughly 3500 pound per month .
Saving = 3500-1800-600= 1100 when you stay in zone 3 or zone 4 .
Note: I have excluded your bonus amount. You add that and calculate accordingly
Please consider zone 1 and 2 is even more costlier.
So it means OP is saving 12L (approx) per year. Seems to be a bad deal. Since his package in india is 24L. He can easily save 12L with average lifestyle.
Hey guys. Just an update to you all. I have decided against going to London. Mostly due to family reasons but otherwise also it is not a great offer considering I am getting promoted next month and hikes within or outside my org won't be an issue later either. The savings I can make in London or in India would be the same. But I can utilise my savings better over here in India. Additionally the situation of UK economy seems to be deteriorating every day. This could be the reason the orgs there are hiring loads of people from outside to help them transition through the crisis since locally there isn't enough talent available. I may be wrong here as well. But this doesn't mean I may not consider moving to London later. If the govt changes some policies for bringing families and the pay is better, I'll definitely think about it again!
Just thought to put this thought out there. Thanks a lot everyone for your invaluable inputs and suggestions over here as well as in personal messages :)
Any guidance on key ways to apply for on-site jobs from here?
Sir as per my understanding if you compare cost of living then it is not good. But please refer purchase parity calculator. I think your Indian salary is more.https://www.chrislross.com/PPPConverter/
Lowballed you. I think at 70K you'll be at par. Try to get 80K plus to even consider
60K is less and you are right. Cost of living in London, especially with regards to housing has gone up significantly in the recent years. Unless you really want to move overseas and desire to live abroad, I don't see any value in the current offer. Of course, you can always join and then change to a higher paying job sometime down the line. So, it's really your call to make.
Should be around 75K, just for parity with Indian comp. But if you are single and just want to explore and get international exposure, then you can consider, but be ready for the pinch on savings.
How did you get the offer? Having similar kind of experience of overall 7yrs and 3.5 post mba in FS domain
One of my friend got 80K as Sr. Consultant with 5 YOE. You can try to negotiate.
With 80K, you will get 55K as home pay. Which seems to be a good deal and you can do enough savings as well.
Good offer.
DM please. Easier to explain.
Very good
Can you please elaborate. I've heard cost of living has increased greatly in London, most specifically rent.
Mba - tier 1?
Is this a WITCH firm?
