If you're on a PiP, is it better to quit just before the end stage, when you get fired, or better to get fired and collect unemployment, but also have a company-based termination on your record
If you get laid off and have two strong projects in production what do you do? Do you get credit? Put it in your book anyway because you made it and it's not your fault you got laid off?
A group of us had drinks last night with a HC OT manager. Those put on BCLPs were done to save money (as they will not receive AIP) and to already have the next set of layoffs ready. If you are on a BCLP, update your resume ASAP.
I’m at an agency that just went through several rounds of layoffs. It often seems like staff have no recourse when the layoffs hit. How could a staff union assist in that situation?
Trying to figure out if I’m about to get fired… worked on a reallllly hard high profile case - for months of 12+ days in a row; and got a review that rated me uncoachable and “would not work with this person again.” I did so much hard work but miscommunication with my director felt like it overshadowed everything.
Had an engagement last summer that resulted in 180 people being laid off (different city, different state). Just ran into the manager, who got laid off, in my home city. He now lives across the street
Just got promoted to SM. I worked my ass off for this and am very proud. At the same time, my daily life is exactly the same - my role won’t change and I can’t celebrate because of COVID. Also, I feel guilty because I know so many people who have been laid off during this time. Any advice on how to enjoy this accomplishment and feel the excitement during this time?
How does background check work? I omit a less than 2 months experience (was fired due to conflict with the boss) in my cv. Should I fill this info in the background check form too? Is it lying if I don’t reveal it? But if I reveal will I be possible to lose the offer?
A few people from my last company (finance) were laid off and have been job searching for a year. All of them were middle managers in their 40s. This terrifies me. Seasoned 🐟 any words of wisdom?

Was laid off and just found out that cobra is going to cost $500/mo for just me. No wonder people just don’t pay for health insurance in America.
What are the weirdest reasons you have heard for people being laid-off? Heard someone getting laid off because of submitting wack expenses.
I have a gov law job with an offer to go to a great firm as a mid-level associate. Worried that if COVID continues, I’ll get laid off (much less likely at my gov job). Should I wait or go?
I was laid off on June 26. I am international and my OPT is coming to an end very soon. I had a call with an immigration lawyer today. Deloitte unfortunately does not offer additional support for immigrants.
I am qualified and in need of a job ASAP. I have until July 24th to find a job or I will have to start a new educational program or leave the US.

I am a newly hired cross Industry PDM employee and with the US federal reserve set to raise interest rates and slow down the economy, I had a question regarding layoffs. I assume layoffs are coming and I had a question regarding PDM employees during these. Are they usually the first to go since they are easier to get rid of? Or are they kept because they have less overhead and overall cheaper? I want to plan for my financial future but not sure how Deloitte usually handles PDM employees
D going through layoffs?

How do entrepreneurs deal with burnout? A colleague of mine recently reached out to me to share that he was experiencing some burnout and lack of motivation. I shared that I feel the same, but off and on. I was wondering how others deal with this? I was telling him that I was thinking about taking time off to do a fellowship to experience something new or simply taking a few months off. Any thoughts?

So in the spirit of positivity, I would like to pose a different question. Using the GLAD method, I would like to hear your responses:
G - One gratitude that you are thankful for today
L - One new thing you learned today
A - One small accomplishment
D - One thing of delight that touched you today
At a mandatory full office meeting, in front of everyone, the office manager announced that I was eligible for a Senior Role, without telling me before hand. I have to apply to the role. So, if I don’t apply, it’s my ass right? Also, should I run for the hills, is this my sign? The position pays a little more in commission, but it comes with no boost in base and it’s sort of an managerial internship, where they show me the ropes. The problem is I don’t ever want to be in management.
After seeing someone from the UK team mentioning about becoming top-heavy I would like to share the following: Our team consist of 4 partners, 5 directors, 12 (sr) managers, 11 sr associates 2, 4 sr associates 1 and 4 associates. Being one of the sr associates 1 it seems to me that we are top-heavy (not at all like the pyramid I expected a big 4 would be) and I “fear” for my chances of getting promoted. Do others recognize this from their countries/teams?
