Anyone else?

Me: Spends all week looking forward to the weekend.
Also me: Too burned out to actually do anything when the weekend finally arrives.

That's me every damn weekend.

That sounds about right. I'll spend time looking forward to having free time on my hands. And then when I get some I can't decide what to do with it, so I often wind up doing something pointless. I need to structure my weekends or something.

What's wrong with just relaxing and enjoying the weekend without feeling pressured to do stuff? I'm happy enough to just relax and enjoy being lazy when I have nothing else to do.

I’m having a lazy Friday night in as it thunders outside. Not going to lie, I’m loving it.

I’m so jealous! I literally have a playlist on my phone for rain sounds lol

Yup, and I hate to sound all conspiratorial, but it’s by design.

We only have weekends due to Henry Ford wanting us to have time to consume more leisure goods (like automobiles) if that could’ve been achieved another or shorter way, they would have.

Did a first interview with hr rep, went very well. she set up the hiring manager meeting for a few days later. Met with the manager. Another great conversation, went over time and was told I’d hear back about panel set up. Following day I get a request from hr rep to “continue the conversation” with manager. This is set up Tuesday.
Why do you think the manager wants to meet again? Good? Bad? I felt great about the interview when we ended.

First year lit associate here. I had a tough time deciding between corporate and lit and chose lit because I wanted to litigate. Its only been a few months but I’m not enjoying the people or the work as it turns out (too many internal investigations and researching obscure issues, haven’t been on a single filed case yet). Anyone else in lit lateral early on in their careers?

Is an IPO in anyone’s FIRE strategy? Maybe this is specific to the Bay Area, but it doesn’t seem that unrealistic to negotiate enough equity to make $1.5 mill off an IPO. Or maybe I’m dreaming 😂

For the past 2-3 years, I have obsessively tracked my net worth/income trends/investment performance over time. I checked my trends just now, and OMG I hit the 300k net worth mark right around Christmas. I guess I haven’t looked at my dashboard for a month. This feels so cool. I want to shout it from the roof! I can’t really brag about this to my friends, so I’m sharing here! 🎉 🎉

Anyone knows how alimony works ? In terms of salary ? How much more than your partner do you need to make, to be granted alimony… I’m asking because I have seen cases where one person sacrifices themselves studying and working hard, while the other person is basically doing the bare min, and they can get alimony if they separate ? In some cases, for life.

About to do my first interview for an in house job (coming from a midsize firm).
