I see that many investment banking analyst jobs have “other finance role” or “Business Development”. Is that like a financial Analyst or? What is bus dev?
Covid aside, is there anybody who’s main office is out of NY, but they live in the Philly area? What’s the commute like (not just length, but does it feel taxing)? Better exit opps are out of NYC, but I’d prefer to live in PA rather than Long Island or something. Open to any and all thoughts on this!
What’s so great about working with a PE firm ? What are the exit opps from there ? Serious question
What's the time limit a person should put at their current position before getting a promotion or going to another agency? I think 2 years but is that too short?👎👍💣💥🎓
Friend was denied a senior financial analyst position with a local company. Took notes during the interview. I thought this was weird. Any experiences? Yay or nay?
I just opened a Sr. Analyst role at the XFL (just outside NYC). Check out the site or LinkedIn for the full job posting. If anyone is interested, shoot me a message. It's a great opportunity.
If I want to be a controller in the future, which role would serve me best? Sr. SOX Analyst or Sr. Accountant II?
What are some ways that you organize your emails so that you are able to quickly reference drafts that have either been sent to the client or op counsel and otherwise to identify important transactional documents (I.e. signature pages, execution versions and executed docs) that have been sent out by the team? I’m a first year and just learning my role on the team, and recently I was the only associate on a deal and reported directly to the partner. (More in comments)
Analysts: do you find yourself not making an impact in meetings? Just started a new role and at most I simply take notes, rarely am I asked for input. Is this normal or should I be making an impact?
Anyone from A&M willing to refer me. Will be great to also have a conversation. They are hiring for a M&A role I am interested in. TIA PS: I also posted in the M&A bowl.
My group desperately needs a good VP. Seems like the hardest position to hire. Unless they have significant deal exp at an EB / BB, won’t be better than current associates. Need to poach but (1/2)
Does anyone else turn down Comfort+ "upgrades" if he/she has an exit row seat? Can't justify losing all that leg space for an extra inch of width and a better snack.
What certifications would be good to get as someone who is fresh out of college and in their first role?
Analysts who want to become career bankers -- do you feel stigmatized at all for this desire? Every junior banker in my group is looking into exit ops and frowns on me for not doing the same.
Can someone email Kellogg for me and tell them to send my interview invitation or just reject me. Thanks 😭
My current client has expressed that they wants to hire me and I think it would be a good exit for me. Any etiquette or tips on how to navigate this situation? The client sent me the link to the job posting and I've applied there.
If you don’t think there is a lesbian hookup subculture at your San Francisco agency... think again. 🤷🏻♀️👯♀️
It seems like there’s a huge range of salaries for “art directors” even within the same city... Does anyone have insight to what range I would be looking at (overall range, lower end of range because I’m a junior currently?). I have been working consistently for 2.5 years since I’ve been out of school, but I’ve worked several part time/freelance jobs and have had several internships throughout schooling years too (total EXP = 6 years?). Would be jumping ship, not an internal promotion. Thanks!
What are some non-firm exit options for restructuring associates? Third year at v30 dreaming of a better future 🤔
2 partners unrelated to the project have come into the team room in the last 2 days to have 'ask me anything' conversations related to AU cancellations and the state of the market...freaked about comp
Asking for a friend. What's a good salary for an entry level product designer (ux/ui). Candidate has over 8 years of print graphic design experience.
Corp Amex due date is Jan 25 but I have not been completely reimbursed for the amount due. Do I just wait and let it roll past the due date or pay out of pocket and get reimbursed later?
What’s the general cash/ investment split for you? I’m 100k in cash, 20k in 401k and 15k in stocks. No debts. Is that a decent mix or should I be putting more in the market and less cash?
Where can I find a thermometer? AH literally every store around me is out of stock and partner is sick...
Anyone have the Peg Perego YPSI travel system? We really liked it when we tested it at BBB, but it doesn’t seem to be as popular as Uppababy. Any cons we’re overseeing?
Gmail for work email = 100% always petrified I'm going to accidentally reply to the wrong email in the conversation thread and get promptly fired.
TSA guy after opening my bag to check protein powder: "you have the most organized bag I have ever seen" 💁
