Does anyone have the 2020 SHRM books for sale or to borrow? My job won’t contribute towards my certification. I’ve already paid for my test. I have the books from 2015 but I’d like to study from the 2020. I tried finding them online to purchase but sellers of affordable books aren’t responding.

I passed an exam without any prep, all questions were related to my job and I was . You can actually try to take a prep test at study.com and they have a lot of materials, and I think 1m trial is free

Is there a local SHRM affiliate chapter near you? They might know of someone that has a set.

That would be amazing! I’m in the next texting window so I wouldn’t borrow them for very long.

- Are there econometric models (those used to measure the impact of advertising / media on sales) that also take digital into account, but in a "serious" way?

Here we have several FMCG clients who use the econometric models of the media center that consider all channels (including digital) but the conclusion is always that you have to invest in TV (where they marginalize the most). … rest in first comment

Advice re: office crush

I’m a junior and he’s a senior in the same group with ~20 people. He doesn’t supervise me, but we aren’t at our largest office, so we might still bump into each other awkwardly if things go wrong. We are both single.

I’ve been holding my feelings back hard. (He still invites me to group/office outings, so pretty sure he senses nothing weird.) I know it’s hard to find someone like him though, and I wonder if I really should just silently kill my feelings for him?

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture

An employee came to me in confidence to raise concern about a colleague of hers who speaks often about guns and how many he owns, etc. Based on what she's described, I don't believe this person has been threatened in any way, but it's clear that the situation is making her feel very uncomfortable - especially given recent events. What, if anything, can I or should I do to help? The company is on the smaller side, so there's really no option to move either employee to a different team.
