Bain & Company Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?
Many thanks in advance

I think it’ll always be inevitable although it’s definitely more annoying when they’re not great at the job!

Definitely!
Lol in an old job, my boss and senior colleague both interviewed a guy who was the son of a very senior executive director, in both interviews they asked him why he wanted the job and he answered “because my dad says I need to get a job”. Surprise surprise, he got the job!
He actually turned out to be a sweetheart, a little nerdy and not entitled at all, a quick learner and a good addition to the team.
Tbh, a lot of what I have looked at as unfair is probably jealousy, I hope to one day be senior enough that I can get my kids and nieces and nephews jobs in finance 😂
You’re 100% right, but most executives seem to coach their kids on how to interview etc, this one seemed unprepared.
I do think that all of us should hope to be in a position one day to use our connections to get our kids a leg up though! That system isn’t going away, might as well join in!
Inevitable. Doesn’t bother me. Gotta run your own race. What matters is that you got there. Same with DEI. I’ve never seen a talented person worried about who else got the job and why.

I agree that a talented person shouldn’t worry, but the real concern is whether both talented and less talented individuals with family connections receive equal opportunities and are evaluated by the same standards for bonuses, promotions, and other advancements.
