I’ve had my eye on a “Delivery Transformation Change and Communications Consultant” position at Deloitte. Does anyone work here that could give some insight into this position/department or one like it? And is there anyone who has worked in marketing and shifted to communications/consulting…what are your thoughts on a career shift?

Network network network. Conduct as many Informational interviews as you can. Also don’t be afraid to try new things. If it sucks, you can leave. You can also do skill, interest, culture assessments to help give you general direction, but take those with a grain of salt. Also try working for an org or team or boss that will help expose you to lots of different things. Take LinkedIn classes or masterclasses or whatever to get exposed to new areas.
Also, reorient how you view your desired employment. Why are you looking for an obscure role?
Perhaps consider that your talent shines best not within the definition of a standard role, but when empowered by the right community, culture, and environment. When you network as SS1 suggests, you should consider that potential employers can create and shape a new role for you in which you can thrive.
Play around with job searches on LI. There are a lot of things I can do and forgot what made me forget about time...u til I saw a job post that made me excited. Keep looking, change key word searches, don’t pay attention to anything but how you feel. Sure I could do that..and that...oh wait, what’s this? That’s me! Go for that one.
