I know this is a very late response, but I used to live across the street at 625 Broadway. Both apartments are managed by Grey Star and both buildings are very nice with great amenities. Diega more so since they have housekeeping/dogwalking/ and a number of different services they provide their tenants. HOWEVER, the Grey Star personnel downtown turnover a lot and most of them aren’t very responsive or really good at their job in general, and sometimes it’s very frustrating. But that’s not the worst part of the downtown properties—-it’s the immense amount of homeless down there now. All those units on Broadway have skid row encampments that keep popping up. Even if they sweep the area, they always come back. I have had soo many sketchy/dangerous encounters with homeless in that area. These people are just down on their luck, they are high or very mentally disturbed. If you have small children or dogs, I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I lived in hillcrest/mission hills for a long time. That’s a nice area with less riffraff.
