Hi I've joined Harman in May but hasn't been assigned to any project yet. I've asked hr and reporting manager they said they're working on it and there's nothing to be worried about However I just want to know if there's anything I should be concerned about what's the bench policy? On paper, yes. In reality… no 😂 “we don’t have a billable hours requirement” they repeat a million times in the interview. Then they have the talk to people who bill fewer than 45 hours a week

1800 client billable is the requirement. 200 can be pro bono for a total for 2000 overall. But OP question was about client billiables

DWT is 1850 total minimum. But that counts pro bono and DEI, so the client billable can actually be sub 1800
No billable requirement means "a lot of you will bill 2800 so it doesn't really matter"

Exactly this except for certain small firms. Mid sized and above they have crazy hours despite that “we’re a lifestyle firm” crap they say nowadays (these are the meaningless buzz words they use nowadays now that they see the “family environment” or “collegial environment” crap is no longer a selling point because it’s been so overused by firms that are anything but family or collegial)

And not even sure if I can meet the target at this rate
Dechert?
Dechert is 1950 but 200 can be pro bono and a few other non client matters count towards that 1950

Baker McKenzie’s (London) associate target is 1,700. Threshold for bonus is 88% utilisation. Corporate associates tend to bill quite a bit more than that though just bc of the sheer amount of work.
Linklaters has a 1900 with 300 for non credit hours. Don’t sleep on the magic circle firms.
I thought links was no hours requirement at all?
