As a recruiter with 25 years’ experience, you may not be doing anything wrong. The market is flooded and sometimes hundreds apply per role in days. It’s not you. I took 4 months and a $40–45K pay cut myself. AI won’t fix this; most tools are overhyped. Use it as an assistant, but focus on positioning—tailor your resume to the role and address overqualification directly.

what do you mean by "address overqualification"?

If you're over qualified, the tendency, as a recruiter is to assume you will stay on that job until you get a better one.

Smart. It’s currently a buyers market right now so you need to lower your standards, I order to move forward. How are you making back that $40-$45k back ?

Would love to hear more about that last point. I have yet to find a way to address overqualification that doesn’t come across as either condescending or desperate. And I write for a living!

Yoga folks! I used to do yoga and exercise frequently. Things happened, getting back on the wagon. I'd love to work up to a daily practice even if it's just a few mins - but I do need to incorporate other programming as I've got some covid lbs to lose. For those of you who do yoga regularly, wondering how you incorporate and/or balance your practice vs. other types of workouts or if you mostly do strengthening type yoga in that case.

Any advice on how to tastefully tell your manager that you no longer want to be a charge nurse anymore? For us being in charge is having full assignment 3p-7p & being responsible for assigning pts , communicating w/ supervisor about various issues, making the assignment for next shift, and a mini report about each pt for the next charge. On the weekends, same responsibilities but 7a-7p. We don't get any additional pay for being in charge and I'm sick of the added responsibility and stress of it.

My wife and I are moving to Boston from overseas (we’re from Italy and we’ve recently won the diversity visa green card lottery).

We are looking to rent a 1BR starting in January, ideally for ~$3k/month. I’ll be working in the downtown area.

Do you recommend we go for a serviced/luxury apartment (e.g. Montaje, 345 Harrison, etc.) or hire a broker to get a “normal” apartment?

Any managed buildings recommendations within our budget? Also, what are some good brokers we could work with?

Thanks!
