I asked for a bonus right after a busy sales period and came prepared with specific achievements and examples of going above the required targets. Managers like and need to see the numbers and enthusiasm.
I tried to share how little I've called out, discussed how I've covered for people last minute, talked about how I've gone above and beyond for the team. Some companies don't do bonuses like that, though.
That depends on how your bonus is set up. Some are weighed more on personal performance, others (and more common) are weighed on store performance.
Share all the things you did to improve your workplace this year as well as how you improved sales or customer service. There is no harm in trying!

At my company, the bonus depends on your yearly performance. Nothing special affects it.
