Have a 7:10 am flight with United, boarding starts 6:20 (no pre check). Taking Uber from old town, so thinking of leaving at 5/5:15 am to be there by 5:30/5:40 for security. Should I leave around 5:20 if no long lines for regular security check?

The last 3 times I’ve flown out Monday morning at ohare there was a ton of traffic at the exit. If you leave at 5 you’ll probably get there at 5:45 at earliest. Also may have issues getting an Uber to connect that early/it may be 10-15 mins away. Just a warning

Are you checking bags and do you have status? Left around the same time Friday for a flight leaving 40 minutes later than yours and only had about 10 minutes at the gate after checking bags through the premier line and using the priority non-pre check line (surprised to find out my precheck expired). Non status lines were beyond absurdly long.

Why no pre check?

Hey OP, just a heads up- my partner is not a citizen and has precheck! Obviously doesn’t help you for this flight, but maybe something to look into further for the future

No bags, carry on bag, so just get there and get in line for security

If you have status, the premier access lines at the end of T1, almost to T2, never has long lines anymore. Clear and Pre check takes away all the frequent travelers.

Just get up early and go dude. You are thinking too much. No one can predict traffic conditions, weather conditions, airport security lines, flight delays to give you are perfect answer.

Guys chill, got to the airport by 5:30 and was all good and made it to sunshine state.
