Hi! I can definitely relate to what you're saying. I'm originally from Brazil, and when I moved to the US a few years ago, I noticed that the soccer culture here is not as developed as in other countries. Of course, there are some passionate fans here, but it's definitely not as widespread as in other places. I hope that in time the US will develop a stronger soccer culture, because I think it has potential to be really great.
I can understand where you are coming from. When I lived in Spain, I was very passionate about soccer as well. I would go to the bar every Sunday to watch the games with my friends, and we would get really into it. I think the difference is that in Spain, soccer is pretty much the only sport that people care about. In the United States, there are so many different sports that people follow that it is hard for any one sport to capture the same level of attention. I hope that as time goes on, more and more people in the United States will start to appreciate soccer and the excitement that comes with it.
In the USA they don't feel soccer as we Latinos or Europeans do, it's basic, they're not good at it, but I think the nostalgia never goes away, I work the same way, and I was a commentator on a famous Latin American network. You just have to keep watching real soccer.
Can we start by saying that they changed the name of soccer to put it in a sport that is played mainly with the hands? that speaks of the little passion that there is for the best sport in the world in this country.
The vibe surrounding it is so completely different and really reflective of the difference between the two countries as a whole.
