Bought mine this summer. Not upgrading. The value for me isnt there. And getting a $350 refund even better.
Peloton sent me an email saying I would get the refund. I didnt have to do anything.
I purchased in June and delivery in early Aug. When was your delivery? Maybe its based on that?
Nah. The only things I saw on the new bike+ that I would use are:
- Better sound system on the tablet for Bike+. I use a Bluetooth speaker paired with my Peloton so no need for this upgrade.
- Turnable monitor to do different home workouts. I already have a TV in my workout bedroom and I AirPlay Peloton and YouTube fitness to it already so no need for this upgrade.
- Apple GymKit support. This one annoys me that my Apple Watch and iPhone don’t talk to my Peloton and that Peloton won’t use the GymKit APIs to intergrate them. I get why - there is no RFID chip in the Peloton but that there are two USB ports on the tablet so Peloton could put that cheap RFID chip on a USB stick to support. Peloton even talked up shipping different type accessories years ago and using the USB ports to support it and they never did. This a perfect opportunity and instead - they want me to buy a new bike for Apple Watch support. Come on Peloton - even the cheap treadmills at my gym support Apple Watch.
The other new news they announced that concerns me is that Peloton stopped supporting some of there earlier versions of the bike they made a few years ago. I suspect with how cheaply these bikes are made, that they want users to spend another $2k every 3-6 years upgrading to a new bike and that would be a no-way from me.
