There's no question that the economy is affecting the way people think about employment. A lot of people have been laid off and they're eager to find another job and may not be too picky about it. And there's been some reporting that companies are making lower offers, as they know someone will accept. A job market like this can affect people for a long time. If you accept a low offer, you'll always be catching up.
More cautious in terms of what somebody might accept job-wise? Gas prices alone are enough to make everyone cautious, steady rise of everything else is coming with it.
