Does anyone have any positive stories about recruiters? The ones I have used have always been useless and always suggested roles that aren’t suited to me. Would love to know if this is a shared experience or if I’m just very unlucky

I'm sure there are amazing recruiters out there, I just haven't found them. I tend to apply directly and I will talk with the recruiter if they reach out, but I've never gotten a good lead yet.

Same as me, I’ve only ever got jobs from contacting a company directly

I had one good recruiter, one time, 10 years ago. Haha, so not a great track record. She was very diligent, actually listened and got to know me, and was persistent in helping me find a job. But I haven't worked with a good recruiter in years. I'm afraid the field might be losing some relevance.

Even though it was 10 years ago ahah it’s still nice to hear that some out there are actually half decent!

I have had two really great recruiters. But found that they were promoted pretty quickly.

Seeking immigration / travel advise. I know we are not lawyers but any experiences / stories would be helpful.

Can I enter the US when I have H1B change of employer petition approved but employed with my current company and serving notice period? Which company’s I-797 form do I show immigration? Do I tell them about switching jobs, etc.?

My new company lawyers are not providing clear guidance on this and suggesting against travel due to COVID in general. Thank you.

Hi everyone!

Is someone willing to refer me for Product Manager roles in their company? I don't have a relevant experience per say but I work as a Solutions Consultant which comes really close. I can share my resume with those willing to help. Thanks :)

Why are town Hall meetings so impersonal? They are all about awards / the number of people hired. I know FCB health is large, but we never hear from people who aren’t Executives. Last town hall, when discussing inclusion efforts, there were no people of color represented and one of the 4 pillars of diversity was centered around our “reputation as an organization” (that really rubbed me the wrong way). At my last agency those conversations were always led by people of color from every level.
