Why did you get an MBA or why are you getting an MBA? Feeling very lost as my ultimate goal is to relocate to my country of origin (developing country) to pursue my entrepreneurial journey (cotd)
Made a dumb mistake two years ago and did my mba at a school outside of the top 25 - how does one recover from this?
Me: M, 6’3”, 35, super fit, shaved head, witty sense of humor, MBA, no debt, gentleman You: F, 5’5”-6’, 27-39, fit, doesn’t have a shaved head (haha), fun, skier/snowboarder, scuba/surfer, biker ???
Poor MBA student should probably have checked the "To" field before sending... I won't hold it against him but thought it was funny
I’m thinking of pursuing an MBA soon - but as crazy as this sounds, I’m worried that being an MBA would make me more intimidating to men. Ladies out there feel me on this? (Cont’d)
I’m not ashamed to admit that 75% of the reason I’m going to get an MBA is with the hopes of getting an MRS out of it too
I am sooo frustrated. I’m struggling to pass my cpa exam and just struggling to live life in general. Any advice? Im so close yet so far to where I want to be in life. My world is collapsing.
Admitted to Wharton MBA. Attended a welcome event last night and left with a negative impression of several alum. One in particular told me...
Not to brag, but just crossed 200k annual comp with my raise and bonus this year. Still living in NYC, paying 2k a month in MBA loans, and 1k to support patents, but now feel a little more secure. 😀
MBA class of 2017 comp Two years out, what are you making? I’m at 280k TC, sales strategy for Bay Area tech
After seeing the MBB 80+ work hours post, I’m wondering, is MBB unfriendly to mothers of young children? I was planning on applying after MBA (target school) but now I’m slightly deterred...(cont)
Firm will sponsor my MBA, but is it worth going? Two years of lost earnings and no additional gain in promotion trajectory. I know an MBA can be a good two year vacation, but I’m not sure if there’s much more value besides that. 🐠 who did / didn’t take the MBA sponsorship, what was your rationale?
(24M) Help on finding a career path ? I graduated from Boston University with a degree in comm w/ a concentration in advertising. Ive been in the industry for almost a year as a media planner, and have generally enjoyed it. My biggest issue though is the money. I didn’t go into the field expecting to get rich, but it would be nice to not live in poverty...Im considering going back to school to get an MBA in marketing as I feel this will complement my work experience and UG degree. (cont.)
I know imposter syndrome has been discussed a lot here and it’s something I’m working through. A girl in my MBA class told me “Of course you’re good at giving presentations-you’re pretty and blonde.”
Celebrating the end of the week and passing my AWS cert exam with something really special: Octomore 06.1. It’s like Lagavulin 16 and Oban 14 got together and had a lovechild that’s rambunctious and gregarious. I love it, too bad the bottle is almost empty.
Anyone has experience in Santa Clara university Mba or EMBA program? How is it and if this helps you go to the next level, let’s say, staying in the Bay Area?
Why do MBA hires make so much for only 2 additional years of courses? Even when looking at the classes, it doesn't seem like anything crazy you couldnt learn from some other avenue?
People who applied for/did a joint degree with your MBA, what was your rationale? Do you think it has helped you reach your goal?
Johnson (Full ride) or Stern (no $) or Darden (no $)? Post MBA goal is consulting in NYC (preferably MBB but Tier 2 is fine). Would be taking 130K loan for Stern & Darden. The latter 2 schools seem to have better prestige and recruiting opps but unsure if it’s worth the 130K in the long run.
Was talking w/ a colleague about pay freeze & how my recent MBA has negative ROI and his first response was "be grateful you're employed!". I'm beyond grateful but was I inconsiderate to bring it up?
Hear bunch of quick h1 approvals. Can you respond with specialization/ role title n processing center ? I think STEM folks going through while MBA s arenot
Is there a way to be recruited to consulting with competitive post mba salary (160k ish) without going through on campus recruiting? I was late to opt into it because I didn’t know if I wanted to stay in consulting but now I want the chance to try but can’t since I didn’t opt in early enough
I have a Masters in Org Development. Should I get an MBA? Most of last 10 years experience have been in HR, with 2 years in consulting. However, job options still seem limited. Currently living in Texas making 80K but would like to make 100-120k.
Would be interested in hearing about people’s experiences with resume development for mba apps. Do you break down your experience by project/client? How do you represent what you do in consulting when projects and responsibilities and differ wildly from client to client? How have you represented internal initiative work on your resume?
Hi all, Hope you are all keeping safe. I am an African lady who got admitted (Full ride) to a Top 7 MBA program. I am looking to break into MBB strategy consulting. Can you help me prep?
Currently a 25yo SWE. Long-term goal is to get more involved in business, I’d love to be c-suite at a big tech company. At what point should I opt for an MBA? And should I do an MBA and then shoot for a high level industry role or opt for consulting first?
I am on L1B visa currently. If I pursue an MBA in the US, can I join back the US firm on L1 without going through the process again?
