Everyone around me swears by Figma. I still prefer Illustrator. I want to love it…but it just doesn’t hit the same for me. Is there a tool or trend you just can’t get into even though it’s everywhere?

Usually I say whatever you started out in is what you’ll favor. Actually the opposite case for me. I used to use Grammarly, it got to be too much though. Constantly wanting to change simple words into more complex ones, it was becoming more of a hassle. Switched to a few different simpler apps for free, and like those better for what I do.

Figma is just good because of how much easier and better it is to collaborate. I can go in and change the copy and see what different lines look like without having to send stuff back and forth to my AD.

And we can just tag our CDs, and they can jump in and work with us or leave comments if need be.

You can’t really compare the two. Illustrator outperforms Figma in all except the core feature, which is real time collaboration. It’s mostly used for Product Design.

Illustrator is the industry standard for graphic design, of which product design is a subset of. But outside of digital product design there are many many other areas of design, and Illustrator will serve you in those.

I am an experienced CNA/MA (17yrs) trying to break into ER tech role. Previous company wouldn’t pay for phlebotomy class, and when I took a position with a company that would train me, there was so much drama and b.s.
I was out of there so fast because of the toxic environment. Should I just forget it and do my best to finish my RN?

I recently joined Swiss Re at 30lpa, pretty good manager and work culture. Got a hike of 10% in 3 months without me asking for it. But got an offer from another company which I was interviewing for before joining here and they are offering a base of 45lpa. Now I am unsure how I convey this to my manager coz I want to stay here but at the same time I am salivating over this new offer and wish I get similar numbers here. Is it worth raising a discussion? If yes what would be a subtle way to do so?
