Has anyone ever used extended PTO to roll off of a project? And if so, how did you bring it up with management? Let's say you're traveling to Europe for 3 weeks.

In perusing this app I’m finding two consulting firms are bizarrely absent: North Highland and Navigant. What am I missing?

So I’m in industry from big 4, and a colleague with same yoe comes from MBB. High paying tech firm. I think I work harder and produce quality content at speed, but they can hold executive conversations that tend to impress senior stakeholders.

Big 4 produces work horses and MBB produces leaders. Also they could be a work horse too since I don’t have full visibility.

Anyone have similar experiences or do I just suck at executive stakeholder management?

I’m currently working for a small technical consulting start-up firm. I make good money, have great benefits, and they seem very happy with the work I’m doing, so I know I could move up quickly. However, tech consulting is definitely not my dream job. I want to get into data analytics, and I have an offer from a big company to do just that. I’ve only been at my current company for about 8 months, but I don’t ever see myself loving this job. How do I know when it’s time to make a change?

At what income level does it make sense to contribute more to traditional 401k over Roth 401k for company ?

Is there anyone from Canada here? I’m looking for some information on working out of the country, but selling insurance.

I forgot to pay for an inexpensive item at the grocery store yesterday. When I realized my mistake, I encountered a dilemma of going inside and paying or going on my way. What would you have done?

So we hired our own doctor to be on a firm wide WebEx about how COVID is ok. When pushed on whether the Dr would travel, he says “No.” LOL @ the idiocy of my firm.

Isn't it annoying how no one ever notices all the hard work you put into your research? The countless hours you spend in the lab, library, or curled up on your couch researching—all of that dissolves into what can feel like obscurity.

I have been approached by 3 separate HR people at a startup company to interview for a position. I already have a fulltime job that pays well and I only started 6 months ago too. Anyways, the pay was intriguing and the job was a high level scientific advisor so I did interviews. At the last interview, at the end I was told the job was for management but I prepared for a different kind of interview. I am waiting for an offer or rejection letter. I feel peeved that they wasted my time. Red flags?

Has anyone ever posted a general marketing position? We have an open position on our marketing team but we are unsure what type of position to offer. We have a wide variety of needs but don’t necessarily need to have this future person have all these skills. For example we need someone with great copywriting skills and also need someone who is great at digital marketing. This person doesn’t necessarily need to have both skills but if they did great, but if only one, great too.
