So far we haven't been hit by any cuts, but from my perspective it seems like people are pretty worried. We're in a county department, but there's naturally federal money that comes into the county for specific things. If that dries up, and the budgets have to be reconfigured, it could get pretty bad. Hoping it doesn't happen, but I'm resigned to us becoming collateral damage to some extent.

This is going to ripple through every square inch of USA. I do believe states that rely too much on Federal money, or are not capable of sustainability will either have to raise taxes and/or cut services. It is difficult to come back after episode after episode of economic crashes. People and states each time it happens, are barely recovering, if at all, Think about it -----people cannot get footing anymore. All horse pooky. States should of tried to get off the Fed dole, and be independent even if it took years..over time, many would be close to that goal. That way they can say, no thank you, I dont need the funds.

We haven’t felt the full impact yet, but leadership is definitely being more cautious—delaying hires and reviewing every line item. It’s a good time to stay informed about your agency’s funding sources and build up internal support networks. The uncertainty is tough, but being proactive helps ease some of that anxiety.

There were some big cuts in the last two weeks that I know caused some really tough conversations amongst health and social services for sure. What the end result looks like is to be determined though.

I've heard of hiring freezes that don't affect positions posted before current climate. The employees don't seem to be too concerned as they continue to show up when they please.

My stepmom threw me a very elaborate bridal shower. My stepsister pitched in and also did a lot of work for it. Bridesmaids helped but didn’t do a ton. What, if anything should I do for my stepmom and stepsister as a showing of gratitude? I don’t want to spend a lot of $$ but definitely want to act quickly and thoughtfully.

I am a ft interior designer, full time mom that also does part time photography on the side. I currently make 90K as a designer and bring in around 20K as a photographer/yr. My design job allows for me to work 100% remotely which helps with daycare pick up and drop off. I feel like I am not making as much as I should as an interior designer PM, and I have spoken to my higher ups about a pay raise with no luck since the pandemic hit the coliving residential market hard. *Continued below*
