I've worked in hospitality for two years, but now the travel restrictions are lifting and I'm nervous; how busy does it usually get around Christmastime?

It is quite agitated at Christmas, people tend to travel at that time often. Also the tips are usually good.

Around Christmas, it can get pretty busy in the hospitality industry. Usually, there is a lot of travel, and people are looking for places to stay. If you have worked in hospitality for two years, you should be familiar with the typical demand patterns around this time of year.

It really depends on the year. Sometimes it's really busy and other times it's not so bad. I would recommend coming in early to get a good spot in line and to make sure you get the table you want.

It usually gets pretty busy. I recommend that you get as much experience as you can before then, so that you're prepared for the rush.

It can get pretty hectic and with people being more stressed than usual this year, I would imagine customers will be extra Karen-y. Remember that you and your coworkers are in it together.

I have 32k miles with THY that are about to expire. Normally I'd go ahead and book a flight, but I can't project which countries might be locked down again 5-6 months from now (haven't accrued enough PTO to travel in near future). The only other way to keep the miles is to pay $10 per 1000 miles, as far as I know. Are there other strategies?

Moving on from Hotels (Hospitality)?

I’ve been thinking about this for awhile now, but it is very to commit to actually accept a new job offer since I really do love my job. My only complaint is, the pay vs workload is very small. I’m a manager now and my property offered me a director position… but the salary is still low! To make six figures, it’ll take another 5-6 years to grind it out.

Should I move on and go to a different industry? Opinions are welcome! Thanks in advance.

What's a Restaurant General Manager salary in South New Jersey?

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.

I'm worried that if I speak up, she'll make my life even harder. I don't want to lose my job because of this—do you guys have any advice?
