I wouldn’t be looking to match, I’d be looking to exceed. Your power is at the negotiating table. Once you’re in the door you’re powerless.
BMS doesn’t have a great reputation as an employer at the moment, so you’d better be sure you’re getting paid before you leave your current role.
You cannot negotiate rsu, it’s a fixed value based on level. You can ask for a sign on bonus but be cautious that they may move on to the next candidate if you are looking for too much.
This is accurate. you can negotiate sign in bonuses and salary, but RSUs are fixed by level. you might get a small bump as part of a merit bonus pool at performance review, but it isn’t something you can contract for, especially at the AD level, which is still two levels below the lowest executive rank.
try to negotiate RSU or they may make up the bonus with a sign in bonus
Sign on bonuses are typically to match whatever you leave on the table.
What’s your package at BMS?
Just ask and tell them how much you’re making and how much you want them to try to match.
I was able to negotiate 12.5% higher base and 10% higher LTI than the initial offer mainly based on what I was making in my previous role
Yes you can negotiate base, and you might get a sign on LTI to make up ground for what you l leave on the table, but I have never seen a year over year commitment on the LTI being anything other than the allocated plan amount by level.
