I don’t have periodontitis but I use an electric toothbrush and my gums held up way better to my dental hygienist’s cleaning than usual
TheraBreath Healthy Gums... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0758F8KDC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yes I use it myself. I haven’t been diagnosed with gum disease but I’m not a religious flosser. Not that this is in any way a substitute. But it helps my gums feel healthier and helps with morning breath. It also doesn’t burn like listerine.
Try using Crest's Gum Detoxifying toothpaste. Floss daily, and brush your teeth twice a day, especially before going to bed. Always rinse your mouth after a meal. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water often. It really depends how advanced your gum disease is. If it's still in early stages I think the above steps can help stop it in its tracks. For more advanced level disease, definitely consult with your dentist.
I have periodontis. I use Waterpik everyday in addition to string floss, and was told that once a week, add mouthwash to the Waterpik. I use variations of the Crest gum toothpastes. And I get my teeth cleaned every 4 months (3 if I regress which thankfully hasn't happened in a while). My former dentist did periodic irrigation but I'm starting to think it was the the equivalent of mouthwash+Waterpik. Hope that helps.
