The companies you listed are all CROs. Have you tried applying to the sponsors? They're always looking for PMs. I was a CRC for institution initiated studies and was recruited as CRC on the sponsor side. You could try that route and see if the company would transition you to a PM role after a few months. Even if they won't, you already have your foot in the door in the industry.
If you have observational studies, pivot for real world late phase or phase 4 opportunities. Try connecting with other CROs. You might also consider a project coordinator/project specialist role where you will be exposed to next role, project manager.
I would suggest looking at PPD and the Associate Project Manager (Lead) positions. They consider this a training role. You will learn the ropes of a CRO and the Project Manager responsibilities. You’ll be promoted to PM in about a year.
It’s a great program and the pay is good.
