I can't imagine having the courage to do this 🤣🤣. Like don't get me wrong, I would love to, but I need this job, terrible pay and all. I'd be too worried that they'd say "okay fair enough, good luck to you" and I'd be left struggling without any money to pay my bills. But it sounds like you're more meaningful to your company than I am to mine - maybe it'd work out??
This worked for me last year. We were extremely short-staffed, and they didn’t want to lose me. I was upfront that I needed a raise or I would have to leave, and my manager made it happen. It doesn’t always work, but it’s worth trying

This strategy worked for me as well at my last job. I was stern about what I needed to get paid and they honored that. Speaking up for yourself definitely helps in the long run. I’m glad I did because I was able to get a pay raise.
For my last gm ... yes. For me no, but it did get me a promotion offer and a slight pay bump.

I guess it will depend how long have you been staying with your company. If your company does not want to lose you, this trick should work otherwise it won't.
