I got contacted by Deloitte Digital, and I am being offered a Senior Manager role with a slight bigger pay when compared to my estimated salary after promotion (10k per year). Is it worth changing? what are your thoughts?

A friend has been offered a role as an independent contractor commercial counsel for a pre IPO tech company in NYC (roughly 10-20 hrs/wk) with the possibility of becoming a full time offer. He has roughly 3 yoe and was at a V10 firm doing tech transactions work but took time off for health. What determines where (service center) an I-485 or I-140 application goes? Is it different if doing concurrent filing vs filing AOS after I-140 is approved? Any hypothesis on what determines timelines as well? Seeing it range from 6 months to 2 years. Is all this just random or have we observed a trend?

M&A Hours Check. What’s your year end target looking like? Think about 80 percent of the firm’s group is not going to hit hours. Not sure how sustainable this is. Definitely have great leadership that are swallowing the brunt of it, but I’m curious if any survivors of 08 ever had a really bad hours year and still survived. Obviously M&A takes the brunt during these times, but are firms thinking that they want to be poised for when things return back to normal or are they about to let the ball go

Agency recruiters: do you participate in kick-off meetings with hiring managers?

My company thinks that’s not scalable for us to be in those calls. But I find it hard to speak enthusiastically about a job to candidates I interview when I never got to even hear the founders speaking about it themselves.

We have now agreed that I’ll get to see the recording of those calls. I’m not sure if that will suffice, though. Any thoughts on this?

How do you handle a CD that overrides everything to do with web/UX/UI for their own opinions and tastes? A few months ago the same CD admitted to having no new web knowledge since the mid 90's...

My team and I have provided research/data backed design choices but our CD could care less. We present our ideas in a respectful manner but it seems he interprets it as a threat to his authority. It makes for a frustrating work environment and our products aren't nearly as successful as they could be.
