The monitoring appointments are early in the morning so I would go into work afterwards. You will need to take the day off for the egg retrieval(s). You can roughly estimate within a couple days when that will be. I didn’t need to use any FMLA leave because the day of the retrieval is really the only day you need off. In which case I just texted the partners I worked with that I was having a medical procedure and would be unavailable the following day. It’s only a twilight anesthesia so you’d probably be fine to WFH in the afternoon after the procedure.
Yup. On my retrieval days I was just unavailable while under and a little before and after. I was back to normal 20-30 min after the procedure. Just worked from home after. I did several retrievals and all the same story. Would do morning appts (always got the first of the day) for the monitoring.
I froze my eggs (which I believe is the same process as IVF minus the transfer procedure) and didn’t need to take any time off. Daily appointments were “morning monitoring” around ~8-830am (though I believe you can schedule for earlier depending on your clinic hours) and lasted about 30m-1h depending on how busy the clinic was. injections were at home in the evening. My retrieval happened to fall over a weekend but the partners I work for were extremely understanding and told me at the start of the process to do what I needed to do. You really only need the day off for the retrieval and maybe one day following to recover further.
I didn’t have to take time off either. After each retrieval, I just worked from home.
i haven’t and am planning on just wfh the days I need to (about to start IVF), but note that many firms and companies run FMLA concurrently with your leave and you cannot use it for another year or some deadline. If you end up getting pregnant and needing leave within the year I wouldn’t want you to inadvertently cut your leave short bc of this. Just check your policy!

I don’t think you need to take off fmla. I make my monitoring appointments before work. You’ll just need to take off day of (and potentially day after depending how you’re feeling) egg retrieval.
