Really struggled with condensing all my interview details over a week into a simple slide deck today. I had only focused on the facts and barely mentioned the so what unless asked. New to consulting and need to improve on written communication. How did y’all improve? Read any books, courses?

GHOSTING POTENTIAL EMPLOYERS: My friend is a partner in a firm (Long Island, NY). He said they cannot find attorneys to hire. Lawyers aren’t applying or applicants just don’t show up to interviews and ghost them. He thinks it’s a millennial thing. I am shocked by it. MILLENNIALS, ARE YOU REALLY GHOSTING POTENTIAL EMPLOYERS?! Where are the applicants?! Don’t you all need jobs!?

Is it bad to jump ship to another agency if you know you’re going to leave within a year? It’s a promo and would increase my salary by at least $50k, but I know I want to leave advertising for good. I’ve been trying to interview outside of advertising but nothing has happened yet. I figured I might as well get paid way more while I figure it out. And the title bump should help, right?

I'm so frustrated. I've been working for 10 years and I can't get an interview for Senior AD roles, but I get tons of enthusiastic calls for Intermediate ones. Im doing the work of a senior now - concepting alone, working direct with clients, guiding the odd junior - and I do a lot of stuff for the community at large that shows leadership (like conference stuff).

I've had CDs review my book and they say my work is great. Why can't I land a senior job? I want to manage, I have good ideas. WTF?

I have been a good designer for many years and have been jumping from job to job but never has it been easy to get an interview. Then finally, When I do get one, my interviews goes great through 5th round and towards the end I’ll get the dreaded email “thank you but we chose another candidate.” I can say for sure in one or two of my previous jobs I’ve had some bad bosses and I know they didn’t like me very much. How can I find out if they say negative things about me? Is there a secret file?

Couple of days back I gave an Interview for AT&T. Interview went pretty well. It was for the ELK stack profile cum Data Analytics. Wanted to know how much should I ask if I get selected.

I started an Independent Study project with my students. They are 7 and 8 year olds. They chose their own topics...and holy cow! We have Nikola Tesla, Fibonacci, history of guitars, coding, etc.

I really don’t enjoy working with a teammate, I feel she’s not competent. When I talk or discuss with her, it’s more like I’m influencing her and passing my knowledge to her because she doesn’t know much. She takes my ideas and get credit and recognition from the team. If I don’t connect with her, I also won’t be a good ‘team player’ as we suppose to work together.

I really want to wear this 3.1 Phillip Lim pink slip dress after losing 20 lbs for around Valentine's day but it seems like people wear flip flops and jeans to fancy dinners here (Kind of annoying tbh lol). I just want a romantic day where I can feel really attractive with my boyfriend and have an excuse to wear this dress haha.
