Public accounting firms that are hiring tax compliance staff/associates? Haven’t been laid off yet but the writing is on the wall
Just had an interview with a small company where I'm pretty sure the interviewer (C-suite) just used me for a free consultation on what products to invest in. The position was no longer available before I started the interview, so I asked what was going on and he said "I like to see how you think" while repeating my words back to me. How do I handle this in the future? How have you handled it? It made me very uncomfortable and felt wrong.
Just found out the new offers they’re giving is higher than my current salary. For the same city and same role. How can I raise this issue?

Have you ever applied for a position at a company you’ve been laid off from? Is that weird? Not that I’m at all considering it, but I’m just curious if anyone has actually done it... (And why??) 🧐
Under-utilised since joining boutique three months ago. Not developing at all and periods of no work for me are common (even when I chase up). Other grad hires are in the same position. Time to worry?

Sorry to be a barnacle on the MBB boat, but I have a final round with McKinsey coming up as an experienced hire from industry with about 5.5 years of experience. I will take into account feedback from the most recent round to improve (which was to make sure PEI is directly aligned to Mck values), but any other pitfalls or differences as compared to round 1 it would be useful to know about? Much appreciated.
Confession: straight up had a project once at Accenture that required only 5 hours of work a week. Lasted around a year.
Traveling to Minnesota for next project. Excited as I’ll be able to buy me some McKinsey underwear. I’ll let you know if it’s any good.
Would it be a faux pas to ask a recruiter to connect me with a recruiter for another area? Applied for a tax role and was turned down in favor of an internal candidate, but told to reach out if I found something I was interested in. I'm very interested in some data science roles, but wondering if the request would make me look undesirable. Ideally, I do want to pivot to data science.
