Easily doable. Leave off graduation date from college. Only show years and not months for jobs. Leave off irrelevant places.
Thank you
I haven't done it but I have heard of people doing it. I don't really think its deceitful to do that. You aren't lying, you're just removing info. I don't see a reason not to do it.
Thank you gonna pass that advice on!
Yes. I was at my first job for 10 years. Started as a Jr Designer and ended as Sr Art Director. I chopped off the first 8 years on my resume and just kept my position as “Art Director” for the last two years I was there. No one has ever seemed to notice or say anything.
Everyone gets laid off at different points in time I’ve seen it across all levels. Glad this is working for you!
I have decided not to be afraid of what people think of my age. I have the opposite issue where I'm a little old for the roles I have worked in, but I just decided not to be ashamed of it, and I really don't think I've been discriminated against. I think my work speaks for itself.
Love that your work speaks for itself but what if the person is starting out in the industry with a junior portfolio & needs development at an older age
Ageism is real?
Yes
Your resume is a marketing tool, not an affidavit. Don’t lie, but you don’t have to put all your cards on the table.
Good advice will pass it on
