Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
I was just offered a CUNY role. The title is Higher Education Assistant. According to Glassdoor, the average annual pay for that role is $83,418. However, I was offered $62,500. I requested for the minimum annual salary to be 75k. Does anyone have experience navigating the CUNY system and their pay?

Take the VP job. The higher the title, the better the pay. You will not get a 70k raise at your current role/company without getting promoted to a VP.
My wife and I have talked about it. The VP job requires an out of state relocation over 6 hours from family and friends. We have a baby and don’t think for our family it is the right choice now, which is why I am trying to leverage my current role to see what they can offer me.
It's a very simple rule: You cannot leverage job offers in negotiation that you aren't willing to accept.
So your only option is to apply for jobs you would actually take them when you get an offer, give your current job the opportunity to match. As others have said, it's possible they won't and if not, then you need to take the new job offer.
One last thing, you cannot control how they will interpret your approach. And furthermore, no for profit company is owed loyalty. Get your head "in the game" and do what you need to do for the only ppl who actually matter - your family.

Well said 👏
As VP1 stated, take the job. Now you’ve opened up the VP echelon and a new chapter in your career.
VP level comes with accountability and things that will help you grow where a pay bump in the same role cannot.
