Hello fellow techies!! I have a question.. it seems like my team and I aren’t being as effective as other Instructional Techs in other districts surrounding us and it drives me bonkers!!!! We don’t have a director. We are a team of 3. Can anyone shed some light and direction my way as to what I can do for my district? This is my second year as a techie and I want to improve so badly.. I just don’t know where to start... ideas, anyone?

Figure out where and what the teachers need support with. A survey might be useful with this collection

Don’t overwhelm them with new things especially this year.

Are all 3 in the same building? Have regular meetings to discuss what is going on in your room, what is working, and what isn't. Do you share the same curriculum?

Our tech department has provided short training videos on common tools, questions, etc. We have a series on Zoom, Google Classroom, etc. Each video covers one topic: How to add an assignment in GC, How to create a topic in GC, How to add an attachment, etc. so teachers can just zero in on what is needed. This has been VERY well received and handy when questions come up, I send the link to the video. It is something that will live on after the pandemic, too.

Have my MBA in project management, however still young and lack the required experiences. Having a hard time landing interviews, what should I be searching to apply for? Does anyone have any referrals or tips for someone just starting out? Anything helps, thanks!

I am seeking new employment, I was recently laid off due to lack of work. I would very much appreciate any leads. I have a Bs in Construction Management and over 15 years experience with Revit and AutoCAD and 7 years of plumbing design. I have solid references and impeccable work ethic. I truly enjoy what I do. Working remotely the last three years has become a way of my life and supports our current situation well, therefore I am seeking a similar role but will consider other opportunities.

Have interviews set up at FAANG co and getting good signals, for a position that was posted widely (all across US) but not remote. Haven’t broached the subject of location yet. Would you (1) early on clearly state that you’re not open to relocation but that you would be open to visiting a big office once or twice a month; (2) not say anything now and wait to get an offer and ask for an exemption; or (3) something else?
