Same here, I regret getting into this field every busy season, but then I'm grateful for one, even just having a job, and two, for the kind of pay this job allows in my life. My positive framework is really just gratefulness because I know a lot of people struggling without a job at all.
I have an opposite busy season, but I pre-prepare about 45 meals with meal prepping before mine starts. My freezer is stocked up big time right now. Look into a vacuum sealer and freezer meals so you can just throw from freezer to fridge for thawing and then pop in the oven/skillet/crockpot. BFD and FFY (breakfast for dinner and fend for yourselves) nights get put into rotation along with planned leftover buffet nights. Next November, start double cooking/prepping. Passionate Penny Pincher has a whole system.
Marketing -1- am not affiliated with them in any way, but they have a Facebook page and a website. You can buy the digital version or the boxed version of their recipes. One of the offerings is a freezer meal box. I do up a few weeks at a time before busy season using the shopping lists. (Hence the 45 meals.) If you buy the freezer box it come with these little baby cards that include the reheating directions you keep with the frozen meal so you know what to do when you pull out the bag. They are not the cheapest boxes, but if it saves you ordering takeout once for a family of four it pays for itself. I like that many times there’s a video of them prepping the meal I can follow. I am also a huge fan of their home planner for tracking home tasks (or remembering how long it’s been since I “we” actually did a task - ha- this really SHOULDN’T be a woman thing, but it ends up being one).
