Almost certain. I have never in my 24 years or consulting experience seen a reputable firm fight to keep someone against their will. Only once i saw it with 2 partners leaving together to join a competitor. But never seen it done to a staff.
When someone wants to leave and already has a job then nothing good comes by forcing them to stay.
She wants to quit and get unemployment. There are specific circumstances where that works but it’s rare.

That’s the point, are employers open to mark it as termination initiated by them if you ask them to?
No because that opens them legally to severance lawsuits even if you sign in the agreement that you don’t want it. Especially in the us they know nothing can keep you from coming back at them with a layer and saying you signed that agreement under duress and now want your full termination rights.
TLDR: Heyylll nah fam. Not gonna happen.

I do not think you would qualify for unemployment when you voluntarily quit a job. Plus, why would you choose unemployment over a job, especially in this market?
Like a divorce or sumthin’?
