Nah.
lol, have you ever tried freelancing or consulting? I feel like that could be the play but I'm not sure if I'm ready to make that jum
It can get better, but it takes a lot of work. In my experience, the best way to make progress is to find a good mentor or advocate who can help you navigate the politics and bureaucracy of the organization. Additionally, you need to be proactive and find ways to contribute value and innovation to your team.
It's just so hard to be proactive when everything has to get approved. The hierarchy and proper procedure to implement anything around here is like slogging through hell
No, it doesn't really get much better. In fact, it often feels like the bureaucracy and red tape just gets worse and worse. There are a lot of politics in marketing, and it's often difficult to get things done because you need approvals from so many people. It's really frustrating.
oh I guess it's nice to know I'm not the only one going through something similar, I guess that's just reality
It can get better, but it depends on the company and your position. In some companies, marketing is a very creative field where you have a lot of opportunity to express yourself. In other companies, it may be more bureaucratic and restrictive. It really depends on the company culture and your position within the company.
Well, clearly I'm working for the wrong company cause creativity is not a priority at all around here lol
Things improved quite a bit in that regard for me when I became a consultant but it took a lot of years of dealing with all the typical BS you mention. Was all worth it for me though
that's why I work for myself now, and the people that hire me allow me to exercise my own creative control since that's exactly what they're looking for by not going with an agency
might just be the specific niche that you're working in, I find that I get a lot of creative control over the content we create and how we promote it. Have you tried working on social media?
Wait you guys are making good money? I get all the red tape and none of the money you speak of lol
