I interviewed for a strategy and ops role in last 2 weeks. Fast process, everyone was in a great rush to get it done. I think interviews went well overall. I am hopeful. The recruiter emails me the day after my last interview saying “We are making final decisions next week, so will have answers for you then. Talk soon.” After some slow interview processes with google in the past, this feels pretty efficient. Also any takes on the recruiters email? Generic? Or indication of positive news?

Getting intrigued by corp dev.. how common is corp dev as an exit from MBB, vs corporate strategy? And how are corp dev teams / folks viewed internally by PnL owners within F500 companies vs corp strategy folk (ie I’ve heard the latter are sometimes viewed as PPT makers with limited impact which impacts exits out of corp strategy)?

I started a new job last month and the position title is very vague/fluid and they wanted someone with a master’s degree, but they got me instead who has two bachelor’s degrees and seven years of experience in my field of digital marketing.
I asked my managers if I could receive my pay grade information to keep with my own personal records and they said, “In the interest of confidentiality we cannot share that”.
