Who is the lead at your firm on the case? Tell the partner/litigation director the issues and see how they want to proceed. They may have a relationship with the local counsel they want to maintain.
Having done a healthy amount of cross-border m&a, this is pretty standard in my experience. Some jurisdictions tend to be better than others, but on average, just not great. But if you’re talking about domestic local counsel, then no excuse. The answer is probably you should’ve hired a different one. Not much else you can do if you e told them what you need and they don’t bring it.
