Is your goal really to look adorable at work though?
Good point. My goal is to feel adorable.
Start wearing cutesy styles on Fridays and gauge people’s reaction. Honestly, I think unless you work in legal or banking you should be fine with any hair style.
Not at all, the c-suite all wear polos and jeans daily.
Is this a serious question? Space buns are never ok at work - this is not a rave, festival, nor comicon and it's not in your best interest to create sexual tension in the office. Not sure why your goal is to look/feel adorable with the C-suite - discrimination is still alive and well and unless your only goal is to land a mate at work, I'd do my best to appear qualified, competent, and incredibly capable. I wear clothes, hair and makeup that make me feel confident and contribute to that goal, and still manage to maintain a sense of personal style.
As for hair options, if you prefer a middle part, you could check out tiktok for cute, professional styles. I watch hair videos all the time (mostly looking for quick options for my almost waist length mop of curls) - you could wear French braids, or twists along the sides, and then finish the ends in a low bun either in the back or off to one side. You could create small pony tails behind your ears, flip them through and then feed some of your front hair through the "hole" to create a behind the ear tucked look that stays behind your ears without fussing. There's tons of ideas out there, but please, save the space buns (which almost all men associate with sexual fantasies of Princess Leah) for after work.
100% agree on the space buns comment. I was in a board meeting today and no, that look would not be met with enthusiasm.
OP - You pluralized ponytail(s). Do you really mean one on each side of your head, channeling a child-like appearance? No, just no.
Go with professional and polished and your appearance will never be questioned.
