If you need a job, you might as well take it. That also applies if it's a company you'd like to work for, and you think there's a realistic chance that you would move up. Sometimes it's better to be in the door, you can try to make moves from there.
That’s true! I guess sometimes you need experience in that company to be able to move up!
I went through the same twice, within 3 months, I was given the orginial role i applied for. Sometimes you just have to get in there and prove your worth. If you believe you are a good fit, take the opening and show them why they should
Oh wow that really good! Thanks for the advice!
You can definitely move up after taking a lower-level role—I’ve done it myself. I’d suggest letting your manager know you’re interested in management and asking what steps you can take to get there. You’ve got this!
Now's not the time to be picky just accept whatever position they give you.
This is not the question you should be asking yourself
You should ask them honestly why you weren’t offered the position.
Is it your lack of experience in their area of stock and staff or
Your maturity or
Your lack of qualifications ( have you taken courses in staff management and merchandising? or
They did not think you would be a good fit with the staff you would be managing.
You do need more experience than the staff you are managing.
Just wanting to be an supervisor is not enough
It’s a demanding, diplomatic and challenging roll
Never take a roll lower than you are in you are going backwards. Only move to other companies to gain experience in other merchandise.
Look around for a very successful supervisor in the company you are in now and learn from them.
Good luck it your future

I have, but that’s only because the person above me just didn’t work out. I wanted growth, so I took that position and it worked out for me!
