There are some benefits to distance learning. Not having to deal with the knuckleheads is one. Discipline and classroom management takes so much effort. However I still miss not being able to see my students in the classroom. I feel empty. And I hate teaching into a screen.

Pros/cons/ first hand experience of planning a pregnancy during busy season versus planning one outside of busy season? It’s tempting to reap the benefits of being on maternity leave during busy season but nervous of the impact it may have on my career progression. Currently going into my S3 year and would be on track to be promoted to manager the following year (first Mgr busy season would be 2022). We are looking to start having kids in the next couple years. Thanks!!

Had to work 2 projects that required me to work day, night, and multiple weekends because SM relied mostly on me and the rest of my team weren't capable of delivering quality work hence more weight shifted to my plate. Few sleepless nights have been hard and I always hope it doesn't hurt my baby. Thank God, my second trimester is easier as nausea's gone by then. Countdown to 5 more weeks when this project finally where I'll be 30 wks prego, it just reminds me how strong we all are. I'm also asking the same SM to approve my maternity leave in 2 weeks and he doesn't know I'm pregnant yet (I don't show much and don't disclose unless asked explicitly because I feel shame due to being a 2nd year analyst). He always thanks me in front of partners for my exemplary work, and I will just be so proud when he finds out I managed to do all that while pregnant 💜

I accepted a client side role with better pay, hours, and benefits. But I now feel dumber than I ever was since senior leadership don’t prioritize strategy, my work is stressful but not intellectually challenging. How do I spin this positively in a new job search?

Hello Everyone - Looking for advice from Deloitte practitioners! I am a specialist senior at Deloitte, got back from maternity leave in April 2020. I had my offering leader schedule a call with me to notify that I have been rated a low performer because I had 46% utilization and mediocre firm contribution scatterplot. My project scatterplots have been consistently good 5,5(top right) over the last 3 years. Do they not consider these things before rating someone as low? Feeling very low!

Is it normal for a recruiter to keep asking for a number I’d say yes to, so they can evaluate if they can do it? I’m finding it odd, but played the game and have given a number only to be told that is too high and whether I’d say yes to a lower number so they can “try” and approve it.
I will tell them that they should give me their best number and that’s it as I need to evaluate the offer in detail.

Full time Pharmacy Tech in Pittsburgh and I make $16.50/hour in a retail setting. I've been doing it for over 3.5 years. I love my job but I am thinking of finding a new one because my boss had to fight the company to get me to that rate and I don't think they are going to budge much past that.
