Thank you! I need to replace my deck. Where do I start?
I am relatively handy but this feels like a project bigger than I can tackle alone (concrete, huge heavy pieces of lumber, the risk of doing it wrong and having it collapse...).
Who do I talk to and where do I find them? Do I need an architect, or will a contractor be able to recommend a design?
Find an outdoor general contractor. One that does outdoor kitchens, pergolas, concrete, maybe pools (they could point you to a deck guy). They should have someone. I’d also recommend you go with composite rather than lumber. It lasts longer and looks better.
Kitchens and baths sell homes. Don’t skimp on appliances or plumbing fixtures. Light fixtures matter. Do NOT pick all trendy colors/materials for a home that’s not modern and sleek on the outside. If your home has “character” look to preserve that.
Also recommend qualitydiscountlighting.com - we used it to pick up cheap lights when updating my prensa bathroom
What types of renovation work have the highest ROI?
Need fridge buying advice:
Just moved into our new townhouse first home. Refrigerator is leaking and really nasty so we want to sell and replace that.
We like the idea of the one with a freezer on the bottom and fridge on top, not interested in any technology.
On the fence about water/ice hook up.
Any good ones out there?
Also what's a good price in south florida?
It's an older townhouse with an older outdoor look.. stainless steel okay?
