Which job would you choose given the two choices right now?

JOB A
- VP at JPMC
- high performance, specialized IC role
- ~205k TC
- 4-week vacation and tons of benefits
- Back office role 35-40 hrs a week
- lots of learning opportunities
- smart, competent coworkers
- chill boss, who is empowering and giving a lot of autonomy
- way too many VPs to compete with, will not be easy to get to ED
- Could be more exit/external opportunities at ED level in 3-5 years

Anyone ever leave a FTE job with full benefits for a 1 year contract? I'm hoping to avoid future regrets - am definitely burned out and under-comped at my current position and we've been losing team members almost every week to greener pastures. I've been at the same place since I started in tech, from an intern to a PM, 6 YOE. Currently managing a peer (!) and reporting to a VP. The contract is for a company I'm interested in working for, but no conversion guarantees and I'm nervous. Stories?

Have a video interview with a healthcare startup tomorrow. Wondering if I should be wearing a jacket or just a shirt is ok ? The person I’m interviewing with is a vp around 30 years old.

Thoughts on $200k for a VP/Group Account Director role at a network digital agency on the West Coast? Apparently potential for growth is there etc. but rest of benefits package is pretty standard stuff. (I have 15yrs experience under my belt.)

I’m being considered for an an Assistant Controller role and have a final “meeting” with the Controller and VP of Finance.

The recruiter let me know Im the only remaining candidate being considered, so the Controller and VP of Finance want to talk on Friday to discuss long-term strategies for the accounting department and company, the immediate challenges facing the team, and any other questions I may have.

Other than compensation/benefits questions, is there anything I should ask them? (cont)

I recently received a VP offer at AlixPartners, can someone at AP help me understand this new profit sharing/ longevity bonus they have? The HR rep was not very clear given how new it is. I presume it is additive to any annual bonus or 401k match, correct? How does it work? How long is the vesting period? Etc.

As a technical consultant (data scientist), how important is it for you to develop relationships with clients in the specific industry you're interested in, like healthcare, as you move up? Or, is it enough to just build a track record of tech chops & impact at the VP/C-level of other industries, even if you don't have any personal rapport with clients to leverage?

Looking to get back into healthcare industry and leave consulting for good. Was in healthcare industry in finance for 6yrs prior to joining the big four focusing on the tech sector. I am in the Final rounds for a VP finance job for a MSO type company. Want to read up and get smarter around tends in MSO and ambulatory care. Any tips here from this group would be greatly appreciated.

Thoughts on technology consulting SM who doesn't see partner track playing out going to a $1.5B PE firm to do tech strategy work as VP for both the PE internally and also for select companies under management.

Not much increase in base pay but 10-20% better bonus and similar benefits. Also an opportunity for carry but not sure how much.

Anyone have experience with exits for technology strategy folks to PE firms?

Anyone know what Equifax’s 401k and benefits look like? Curious to see if it’s competitive. Also know if they’re salary is competitive. Looking at a VP fraud operations and monitoring position.

In running for VP position at a large German firm with international presence. Comp guides seem awfully low for scope of the role: base of 200k Euros base and 50% individual bonus and possibility of adding another 50% annual retention bonus kicking in in year 3. They will throw in car benefits and education fees for 2 kids on top. How does this compare to typical VP positions in Europe? Does this sound about right? What do associate partners and partners at MBB make in Germany?
