For people with clean records -what’s the rationale for waiting until a background check to clear before giving notice? I keep seeing it mentioned but I what’s the risk? To my knowledge it’s not like a cleared background check protects you from your new firm rescinding an offer…is the goal to minimize gaps between paychecks?

I am about a year into consulting. Do all firms have a bench and do you have to find projects on your own?

I have received offer from KGS gurgaon, on friday last week and the HR was also supposed to send me the Joining bonus letter, it's been 5 days now when ever I call the HR she says she will send it but not received it yet, should I keep doing the follow up or it's ok to wait because this was discussed verbally over the call only. Also they have given me 10 lpa fixed from 6.2 fixed current ctc.Yoe-3 Education-graduate
Should I look for other options, can I get more hike?

Any advice for someone looking to transition into a full HR Generalist role from Recruiting. I’m currently a Campus Recruiter with about 5 years of HR experience (Coordinator- Higher Ed). I received my PHR certification in September 2020 and sitting for my SHRM-CP in two weeks. I’m having a hard time transitioning into a full Generalist position.

I'm in the final round of interviews for two internal positions - both vertical. One has FTE's (my first such experience) and the other a much broader scope vs my current role

I had interviewed externally for a role on par w the internal roles, at a smaller and less established company. They confirmed +20% was in their range

How do I push back on my company if they offer less than that, if I do want one of those roles? Without a pay scale, what is the best way to approach?

How long does it take for bonuses to be paid out after your performance outcome has been communicated at other firms?

Our comp system is slightly complex so we know promotions Dec-Jan while bonuses are paid out late Feb-Early March (aka 2-3 months)

Edit: Performance year ends in September (so total process is 5-6 months)
