I had to take bereavement for the first time in my career this week for three days for my grandmother‘s funeral, but our company offers up to two weeks for this. Someone else on my team split it up in December so since we’re busy and it was last minute I asked if I could take the rest of the time in June, he said he could give me one day…is it too much to ask for the full amount available? It’s my last family member, my parents have already passed.

First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. I would say that you could ask for the full time. It sounds like they might say no, but there's no harm in at least asking.

One day is simply not enough. I hate working with folk that you have to lie to ti get what you are entitled to. I would take sick leave for a few days then take bereavement later. I would also talk to HR about it too...not to get your lead in trouble but to understand company policy. No one should expect someone to work through a traumatic situation. Thats abuse imo but others may see it differently. Lastly, the other issue is that you asked rather than told them. You gave room for a no when in this situation they should work around you. Good luck and my condolences.

I have been a software developer (professionally) for about 7 years now, but I’ve decided to move out from that job and do something else (still in tech).
I don’t know yet what to do exactly, but I know I just don’t want to be only writing code every day.
Tbh, I am scared. But I have set myself one year to learn something new.
I also want to go for a job that pays more (55k€ currently). I live in Paris, France, and software developers are not well paid.
Any suggestion for a career transition?

I keep trying but I just can’t get into or finish The Eternals. Big Marvel fan and like the actors… 🤷‍♂️ just something about the movie that’s so meh I can’t keep watching it for more than 15 minutes.

Any ideas for mid-level roles that are a mix of business-facing and technical and bring value to companies but are not typically present in smaller companies?

I am trying to create a new role that suits my background at my dream company. It is a smaller company, but is rapidly growing and has the capability to create new roles.

Enrolled in Stern for a few weeks.
The number of the alumni and current students that go to top consulting firms FT& summer intern are countless even for a small class size.
Stern is way more than a finance school. Given its location, do you want to spend your 2 years in a rural area or heart of Manhattan? Location is almost everything for business school. (I have a friend in Cornell that frequently travels about 5 hours to NYC for events.)
