I interviewed for Graduate Finance Analyst role, After the final interview with Head of Finance, they re-checked logistics like salary expectations, start date, and commute time even though HR had already covered these in the screening call. They also said I’d hear back by Wednesday, but it’s now past that and I haven’t received an update. Is it normal for someone that senior to ask logistics at the final stage, and how common is it for companies to miss a stated decision timeline by a few days?

Salam. 23M here - all my life I’ve had my back on our faith - never really prayed but had imaan (I guess). After bouts of depression from girl problems (🙄), issues within immediate family, being disappointed expectations I had for myself, etc. I’ve been working on bettering my situation over the years. Just got the call from a recruiter that they won’t be moving forward with my application after reviewing my take-home writing assignment. I was very proud of what I submitted, and know it was great quality and up to industry standards given I review/write this type of document quite frequently. They gave me good feedback on it, and I have it in the back of my mind that they are using applicants from consulting as free labor. Anyone else feel this way about interview take-home assignments??
