I make about $300k in my present job, but RTO is now a thing. I would work for $150k to not RTO. What is the job market like for engineering managers? It's been a minute since I have been in the job market. 20+ years experience.

Ask ChatGPT to define a Software Engineering Manager. It's managing software engineers.

Not sure what it's like for engineering managers specifically. As a whole, the job market isn't great. You might have an easier time landing a remote job than most because of your work history, but it's still going to be something of a challenge. There aren't a lot of jobs out there period, and very few of them are fully remote.

My best advice is don’t quit your stable job. This is not a job hopping economy. Your experience will work against you in those markets because what few jobs are available are going to younger and cheaper people.

With your experience and network, you’ve probably already thought about starting your own business — maybe this is the right time. I have the same time of experience too, and that idea hasn’t left my mind lately.

I've thought about it. Yes. But I'm not sure I want to get into all that at my age. Starting a business is stressful.

Take a break. Enjoy some down time. With that level of income, I hope you saved decent and invested as well

Hi fishes, my friend recently had a bitter experience with Dish Network. So her profile was shortlisted and they asked few questions over email. It did take good 2hrs to answer and she replied back. HM said we are good to go for interview and sent an invite. On the day of interview nobody turned up, neither they gave an update later. She did follow up for a couple of days but no response. Is there any reason why this happens ? Me being in HR field felt this to be a little unprofessional.

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?
