Help... I have an analyst on my account who is the project manager.... 2 years at firm.... but, often doesn't produce an agenda (making me scramble) and then on other calls doesn't take notes? Or share screen? She also schedules calls without asking resulting in time wasted and me asking "did you ask if this time worked for everyone?.... and she didnt ask... and they didn't accept either). We've already talked to her about her role - setting up calls, taking notes, etc. 😑🤯 wtf......
Got offered 25% TC increase for a role in the Bay Area. Currently in Chicago. I don’t think they would negotiate higher. Would you take the overall increase in COL for a FAANG Project Manager role?
Currently working as a Data Scientist in consulting. Struggling, because as a Data Scientist you have little to zero human interaction, which my personality certainly craves. Can you share some steps/guidelines on how to become Project Manager in Data Science? I have chosen Consulting in hopes that it will provide faster promotion into tech mngt position
Role at a smaller shop is really asking for it all. I've been going back and forth with a recreuiter about a position at a smaller creative agency, when I've been in big media agencies my whole career. It falls within the realm of Project Manager but the job description is literally 30 bullets long that encompasses new biz, copywriting, account mgt, sales, strategy, creative direction, and finaly project mgt. I'm trying not to see this as a red flag, and more as an opportunity. Any thoughts?

Fishes who are/ were staffed on engagements in PMO role: What do you do when you are supposed to be a Project Manager but there is no "project"? I just started on new engagement. There may or may not be a "project" eventually, but there isn't one yet. All my client wants now is my help with managing day-to-day activities and tasks and has no interest in "brainstorming" on what this hypothetical project might entail. Meanwhile, my Eng Partner is demanding to see a detailed project plan.

I've seen that being a project manager is a common exit, but I'm wondering if that's a dead end career wise. Can you pivot to product managment, something in operations, internal strategy group, or just boomerang back to consulting? For context, I'm interviewing at a bank for a PM role and wondering what my options are, assuming I land the gig, if it turns out I don't like the bank / team. Any insight or perspective would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

The person was fired from the manager’s job and is currently an analyst like me. I had to quit that first job bcs of his abuse and complained to HR about him. I’ m having very bad anxiety issues out of this whole situation. Spoke to leadership about rolling off the project due to lack of interest but they wouldn’t let me

There are several senior client stakeholders for a client in a traditionally male industry, and I’m the only woman, only consultant, and certainly the most junior (age and role). Comments are in response to swearing or saying things like “dicking around”. Should I even respond besides politely smiling?

I am teaching a novel and want to have discussions. We are online, and we do not meet live every day, so it poses challenges. But I am a believer in discussion and trading ideas. I need recommendations on the best online discussion platform for my high school kids, free (of course!), and that they don’t have to make an account for so they aren’t inundated with more emails. We use Google Classroom, which has the question feature, but that is... yucky. I await your wisdom! Thanks!
