I rescued this kitty this morning and brought it home. It’s nowhere to be found in my apartment. I hadn’t even gotten the chance to clean it up yet. It’s very unsettling to think that someone entered my apartment without my permission and STOLE this kitty from me or did it shapeshift and helped itself out? I just don’t understand. What should I do? Should I file a police report? My privacy at home feels VERY violated and I feel like I’ve been SCREWED WITH AND ROBBED!! I’m so upset!! 😭💔

He’s in a new environment. Probably just hiding very well. I’ve moved a couple times with my cats & one is pretty anxious. I’ve found my cat previously: behind the fridge, behind the washer/dryer, in my dresser burrowed behind the drawers, under furniture, dug up into my box spring to hide. He’s probably still there. Just leave him alone for a couple days, keep sitting food and water and litter box out in a visible easy space and he will come out. Next time bringing a cat into your home, keep them in a closed room for a couple days. I always keep mine in the bathroom for a day or two before letting them out to roam

+1 to these recs. My first kitty hid in the closet for 3 days and would only explore at night. Another kitty I fostered hid inside our sofa for the first week whenever people were around. They are very skilled at hiding until they feel comfortable in a new environment.

Cats are masters at hiding and often in the strangest places. Def check your closet, bookcase, laundry basket, cabinets, drawers, etc. My foster kitty wedged herself behind the bottom file cabinet drawer I opened when I was cleaning it out. They like weird places like that. Leaving food/treats out always helps. Good luck and thx for taking the kitters in! 😻❤️ Keep us posted.

It is unlikely someone stole the kitten and it is probably still in your apartment. Kittens when scared or in an unfamiliar environment hide and they can hide in the weirdest places. I have full grown 12 pound cat who will climb under the sofa then from there climb up into the underside of the sofa. Took me forever to discover that hiding spot she does the same thing with the underside of my dresser. I have also found between the two closed sliding doors on my closet. That kitten can be anywhere. Leave food out and be extremely still and quiet for a while maybe more than an hour and she will come out when she thinks she’s safe.

I'm intrigued and sad for you all at the same time. Following to hear the outcome. I hope you find the kitty!

Awww are you sure kitty is definitely gone!? I couldn’t find my girl once and she had crawled way up into the back of my dresser; she got into a drawer and then crawled behind the drawer

I secured it in my tiny bathroom while I brought groceries inside. Shut and locked my front door then opened the bathroom and nothing. Matter of seconds. My apartment isn’t even really furnished. Not only am I a minimalist, but I had chose to pay off debt before adding to my possessions. It’s very roomy, clear, and open. Pretty sure I should’ve found it already unless it silently ran under my stove that fast or something. I’m so sad. I was gonna wash it up and cuddle.

Obviously, a cat that handsome was stolen.

I thought you were kidding, sorry. Nobody stole the cat. He/she is hiding. Put some food and water out. It will come out, eventually.

Look inside bathroom cabinet drawers or where cabinet connects to wall. Sometimes there is a blank spot there. I had a foster cat that loved to open cabinets and then crawl up and sleep in a drawer.

When you find kitten, the priority is to get to a vet and make sure it is okay. Flea bath with some Dawn soap, put a ring around the neck to avoid the fleas going up the nose and eyes, then vet appointment to check on overall health. Forcing a cat to cuddle with you before it's ready will impact its ability to bond with you.

Kitty is hiding somewhere. They can get into the tiniest spaces. Agree with putting food, water and litter box out. It’s very scared.

Check everywhere. I had a tiny kitten crawl in the gap under the cabinets.

"Everybody can be a leader" some say... "Leaders are nurtured not born" say others... True.

But... this is also true: "not everybody wants to be a leader" (whether they can or can't be). It is a fairly common practice in organizations with traditional career management structures for people to "be promoted" into leadership roles as the "end steps of the corporate ladder" that was climbed doing technical work. And, unfortunately, this doesn't work all the time

It’s sucks that I don’t have enough interest to continuously focus on the projects, but now I have even less motivation because I dread dealing with my manager.
